Enough with the stupid comments related to Microsoft

For the record, all of the people who think they're clever when it comes to comments, jabs and other stupidity regarding my start at Microsoft, you aren't clever at all. To clear some things up:

  • The "evil empire" makes more charitable contributions (matching their employees) than most companies make period.
  • My benefits are better than your benefits. Don't be a hater. The company takes care of its people.
  • No, I won't be discontinuing use of my iPhone or Macs. In fact, word on the street is that we can get discounts at the local Apple Store. It's not a binary world.
  • I don't have anything to do with Windows, but the more I use Windows 7, the more I feel like they got it right. It doesn't mean I won't continue to use OS X at home.
  • It's awesome to work for the same company that makes the Xbox 360.

After only three days of being here, I'm continually impressed at how often the company works to do the right things. Certainly I've been critical of Windows for a very long time, and if that were all the company did, and it were still 1998, perhaps the attitude some people have about the company would be warranted, but mostly it's just fashion these days.

See, I can drink the Kool-Aid® and still not treat it like an all-or-nothing thing.

Win7 IS great. I just installed Ultimate yesterday on a two year old Dell Latitude, and my god. The speed of startup! Awesome!

While it's fashionable to be a Microsoft hater, they do get many things right. The 360, Windows Home Server (I love it, anyway), now apparently Win7...
