Overweight people offended by Wall-E

We saw Wall-E last weekend, and regardless of whether it was kid appropriate or whatever, I thought it was fucking brilliant. It broke from the Pixar formula and it's political as hell. Loved it. No Pixar tear-jerking epiphanies.

So now, apparently overweight people are offended by the way people are portrayed in the film. Are you kidding me? That quote on Gawker sounds as if it were written by someone who hadn't even seen the movie.

The movie isn't saying that fat people are worthless pieces of shit, it's saying that the movie is our future unless we get our shit together. I thought the panorama of ship captain pictures made that obvious enough. The movie wasn't exactly filled with deep metaphors. It pretty much came out and said what was on its mind.

I'll admit it. I'm overweight. But you know what? I don't like it, and I'm doing something about it.

I saw Wall-E. I wasn't offended. Actually, I applaud them for putting that in there.

All the movie said was people who don't do anything will be overweight and have issues. It's up to the people to decide that they want to take care of the problem.

BBW Romance is advertising with this post... hehehe.

I didn't mind the politicalness or preachiness of WALL-E. I just found the first 45 minutes absolutely boring. The movie 'Castaway' had just as little dialogue and managed to keep me hooked on watching it. Once WALL-E reached the Axiom is when I thought the story really got going. However, I think with WALL-E dealing with two relevant issues; environmentalism and obesity, is why I think it got such great reviews. Had this movie just been about a robot meandering a fruitful Earth and getting up to the Axiom run by super smart, skinny people (like what we see in Sci-Fi movies) I think it would have been a dud to critics.
