Going to Mix08 in Vegas

I registered for Mix08 today, and realized that's barely two months away.

I couldn't find any free entries this time, but work is paying for it, so that's a plus. I feel a little dirty spending that kind of money that isn't mine for some reason. That's so unlike me.

Diana is going to join me at the end of the conference and we'll stay for the weekend. I'll pick up the cost of the extra two hotel nights. Love The Venetian, by the way. You really get what you pay for there. Will try not to puke after the conference party this time.

I think we're gonna try and see a Cirque show this time. Those who know seem to prefer O, so I suppose that's what we'll shoot for. That, and The Price is Right. How could alcohol plus Plinko not be entertaining?

I'm excited. Haven't been to Vegas since summer of '06. It's way overdue.

O was dark when we went at the end of '05 otherwise we would have watched it instead of .

There wasn't much we liked about The Venetian. It smelled funny and its exterior wasn't much to look at. However it seems to have class without a snooty attitude (Wynn, Bellagio).

The casino isn't anything special, and yes, it does smell funny. What rocks about it is the rooms, and their conference space is absolutely stunning.

I've never researched the rooms. I'll have to keep it in mind.

Palazzo should be open at the Venetian by that time. That makes it the largest hotel complex in the world (and Palazzo is a beautiful addition). If you can't decide on a show, go see SPAMalot. You don't even need to like Python to love it.

Oh, and the best rated buffet currently is at Planet Hollywood. It is TOTALLY worth it. Best Buffet EVER.

Aside from breakfast, I can't stand them (and Paris is best for breakfast).

But you're more of a Vegetarian, right? PH's had that locked down. I only had some meat balls there, but the rest of the spread was a middle eastern/asian fusion vegetarian slated buffet. I only ate one plate of food and it was worth the price.

No, not at all. I eat poultry pretty much every day. And I hate Planet Hollywood. I've been to Paris for breakfast, and I don't need to go anywhere else.

Dude, PH resort is not the restaurant, in fact, it doesn't have a Planet Hollywood in it at all, it (the resort) just opened in 2007. If you're not open to new suggestions for good food, fine, but you're missing out on great non-traditional Vegas buffet food.

It doesn't matter if it's the restaurant, I dislike the institution as a silly concept created by bored celebrities.

Don't waste your money on The Price is Right. We were at Bally's over the New Years holiday and went to the show. It is a very watered down version and cheaply done.

If you really want to do the game show thing go to the Las Vegas Hilton and do their show.
