Here come the stupid people!

As I expected, there have been many stupid comments posted on my sites regarding the Maverick delay. Assuming it mattered when they figured out they had a problem in the first place, how is it that everyone other than the park itself is suddenly an expert?

I especially love the crap from Lance at Screamscape, and how everyone buys into what he says. I'm not one to blindly just follow the park, but when they invite me to work for them on a video gig with the ride a few days before they intend to open, do you really think they were aware of the problem prior to that? How much common sense do you need?

People will believe whatever they want to believe I suppose, even though, as usual, the most obvious answer is the most likely.

I think it's hilarious. I haven't had time to read the sites (OK I have an endocrine exam tomorrow) but it just cracks me up how people think they know everything and can get pissed off because the park is doing the safest thing. Come ON, people! I am going to have a blast on Saturday, Maverick or not. I have Iron Dragon!!!

I've had students visit me because they "heard" Maverick won't open this weekend and asking me what is going on. Like I know???

All I can tell them is what they already know and repeat CP is more concerned with safety than with opening a ride on time.

All my friends asked me, too.

Then I got into a discussion with someone who thinks that Conneaut Lake should be bought by Cedar Fair....that was a fun discussion. ;)

1. I find it hilarious that people go to Linda for CP information on campus.

2. Conneaut should be be leveled and turned into a sweet hotel, beach, restaurant, & park. But Blue Streak should go to me. Mmm... I miss BS.

While I think it sucks for CP for it not to be open when they planned (and I REALLY hope it's open by June 20th...), I'm glad they at least are fixing it now instead of later.

Ah, the things people will do to provoke a conversation...

I'm honestly not convinced they knew much earlier than the announcement. In theory, it should be possible to have the replacement track done in time for an early June opening, but I'm no expert.

Come on, people, this is Cedar Point we're talking about, after all. They know what they are doing and will get things done as thoroughly and quickly as possible.

I just can't wait to ride when they do open Maverick :)
