iTunes madness

So I'm looking at my playlists by year on the iPod, and I see that I've only gone back to 1992. I could probably fill out a couple of years before that, but not many, so I hit the iTunes store and start going through all of the 80's charts.

Before I know it, I have about $90 worth of songs in my cart, going back to 1981 or so. That's a lot of freakin' music. I'd love to buy it all, but that's a lot of money. Of course, the flip side is that CD compilations rarely have any of the "right" songs, and buying CD's would be more expensive anyway, but still.

We were considering getting Ian a mini as a graduation present, but Gordon saw on the 'net that many people were having problems with the headphone connection coming loose from the inside of the thing.

We're considering getting him the larger ipod instead. I figure it would be of great use as he can listen to music without disturbing a roommate.
