Maker break

This has been a great year for me making stuff. There's a lull right now, and for a change I'm totally comfortable with that. This happens pretty much every fall, which is strange if only because it's not associated with the usual cooling weather I experienced most of my life elsewhere.

What feels different this year is that the seasonal trend to engage in passive activities (as opposed to making stuff) is not accompanied by a desire to do nothing at all. That was the signature trait of fall in the Midwest for me, that desire to almost "hibernate." Now, I want to watch movies, play video games, see more shows. This shift started when we moved down here, but only for the first two years. It creeped back into the cycle until I started taking bupropion about four and a half years ago.

It feels like a rare instance where I feel like my mental health is in a good place. That's a huge shift from earlier this year, so I'm gonna take the "W" and run with it.

Brains are weird.
