Carrie blogged this already, but it's worth repeating.
Perhaps an example of how the president is nothing more than a figurehead that is controlled by the larger machine?
Or a guy saying what he needs to say to get elected.
Or a guy saying what he thought at the time, but reality smacked him in the face once he took office?
Maybe a little of all three? Probably an 80/10/10 split. :)
