Things I'm tired of seeing on Facebook and Twitter

  • "Oh, boohoo, there's snow and it's cold!"
    No shit... it's winter.
  • "Life sure is hard, I wish I could get a break."
Yes, life is hard, the economy sucks, etc. I get that. You can sit around and bitch and moan about it or you can do something to better your life and the world you inhabit. If all you ever do is complain, you don't improve the situation for you or anyone else.
  • "[Insert confrontational evangelism here]"
God is good, God is great, yeah, I get it. If you want to spread the gospel though, doing so in a confrontational way only pisses people off. Most of the clever anecdotes I see intend to celebrate religion, but all I can see is, "You're a sinner, asshole, so praise Jesus or else!" And you wonder why people are flocking away from organized religion. Who wants to be told that they suck? I sure don't get comfort or serenity from that, so why would you want that?
  • "M$ is the suck"
Yeah, enjoy that Xbox, and let me know how well all of your games and Photoshop are running on Linux. Microsoft gives away more money than most companies make. Get over it. The company isn't evil because of your dogmatic ideologies.
  • "Banks/CEO's/politicians/rich people/professional athletes/celebrities are turrible."
Not even sure where to start about that. First off, you probably do things every day that enable the very people you loathe. Second, painting them all with such a broad brush is lazy and ignorant. Third, see second bullet about doing something about it. Since we're culturally finally getting past hating on women and minorities, do we need someone else to dislike and mistrust?

That is all for now.

You forgot to add "FAIL" to that list. Also contenders are Twitter itself and the extemely annoying term "tweet".
