I need a TV stand with shelves for a couple of components. Sadly, none of them meet my needs because none of them are deep enough. What should I do, build my own?
You would use a saw when you wanted to make a TV stand that you probably would "use" everyday.
My point is that you threw down the cash for A, B, & C. A drill, saw, & some saw horses are going to cost you a fraction of either A, B, or C and you can make a piece of furniture fits your needs.
A thought that keeps lingering in my mind is having a local school build it for you. Hopefully a high school up there still has shop class. You buy the wood. They get a project to build. Everyone wins.
And, you know, if you just buy the saw, wood, and drill, you could actuall BUILD the horses, so that's something less you'd have to buy ;).
The real question, though, is are you able to use said tools without hurting yourself, or someone else? I am not (although last spring during a renovation project, they gave me a power saw, just before everyone cleared the room. What fun I had...).
Um, I still don't like the idea of Jeff with a saw. And c'mon people, a man who cannot water his flowers is NOT going to just jaunt out to the garage with a miller lite (note spelling) and just whip himself up a TV stand.
Let him buy his little TV stand... it makes him so happy.
And BTW honey, you do NOT use that camera every day. Let's not exaggerate. But it makes you happy to own it, that's really the point here.
