I know I've mentioned before that Xbox game development interests me. So they're doing a new console update, and the features are listed here. Note this one...
Added support for XNA Game Studio Express V.2
This led me to research a little, and I found this blog post that confirms my biggest wish... Xbox Live support! I still think that the greatest innovation in this space, with the indie developers, will happen online. I look forward to looking into it a little.
Speaking of which, I can't believe that the Xbox 360 Scene It? has absolutely no online component. What the hell were they thinking? With those controllers you've got the equivalent of bar-style NTN triva at home. Duh.
I meant to comment on this last week but forgot... I picked up Scene It just before Thanksgiving to play on turkey day with my family. Out of the people playing (all 360 owners), I was the only one who even knew this game existed. That really isn't a problem as I keep up with all the video game news.. the problem arises when all 3 parties called me the next day (well 2, one was with me when I bought it) asking where the heck they find this game. See, if Microsoft (who is trying really hard to break into the family market space where the Wii currently reigns supreme) would put a little effort into their marketing, this thing would be flying off shelves (same thing happened last year with Viva Pinata).
